Stuffing:
Ingredients
1 (1 pound) loaf sliced white bread (used Kirkland Multigrain that had been frozen for a while)
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 onion, chopped
4 stalks celery, chopped
1 teaspoons poultry seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup chicken broth
2 eggs + a little milk
Italian Sausage diced small (used Bob Evens tube)
2 tablespoons sage
Directions
- Baked bread for 30 minutes at 300 degrees, cool, then cut into cubes.
- Brown Italian Sausage
- In a large pan,
- Melt butter or margarine over medium heat.
- Cook onion and celery until soft.
- Season with poultry seasoning, sage, salt, and pepper.
- Add cooked Italian Sausage
- Turn pan heat off and stir in bread cubes until evenly coated.
- In a separate bowl mix egg, milk, and chicken broth; add to pan and mix well.
- Chill, bake in a buttered casserole dish at 350 (or 400?) degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 40 minutes. (bake covered for 25 min?)
